Well, it’s official. If I didn’t think my little Sunshine was a toddler before, she definitely qualifies now. Ellie has officially ‘gained the skills necessary’ (whatever they happen to be) to graduate from the Infant Room to the Toddler room. Sigh. Over the past few weeks she’s spent some time down there to get used to her new teachers and friends. Today was her first day and she did great (even if I cried.) It felt like leaving her at daycare for the first time all over again. It’s a good move for her though. Every day they play games, sing songs, do crafts, go outside and play, etc. However, they have a stricter schedule (including only one nap a day!) so that’s something we’ll have to get used to.
Otherwise not much new is going on. Ellie is into everything – which is how it should be when you’re one. She finds new ways to cause trouble every day (it is her unofficial middle name.)
Ellie is starting to eat solid food better as well. She’s just magically decided she likes to eat a little more – which is great. If she keeps eating well we’ll start talking about weaning bottles soon. I feel like we just mastered this whole bottle thing and now we have to give it up.
We’ve been spending more time outside and she’s finally starting to enjoy herself:
Lately Ellie has decided she likes wearing hats (including her birthday crown) and especially modeling in them:

And the many faces of Ellie (most of which involve an open mouth – because she’s always happily yelling)
