Ellie just finished celebrating her second Halloween! I’m a little sad I can’t get the cute ‘My First Halloween’ onesies anymore, so I had to make up for it by getting multiple Halloween themed shirts (there may have been two other ones I didn’t get a picture of…):
This year Ellie was a witch for Halloween. We had a hard time coming up with a costume, but since she seems to love hats we wanted to get her one with a hat, and witch was it. Of course, once she got it on she pulled her hat off almost immediately. Oh well.
Halloween started off with a day of fun at daycare, complete with a parade! The toddlers got pulled around in the wagon. She did pretty well, until she saw us, and then she had a meltdown:
From there, we went home and got ready to pass out candy to the trick-or-treaters. Ellie enjoyed watching the big kids come to the door in their costumes. Sadly, it was snowing so we didn’t let her do much trick-or-treating on her own, but we did run her to a couple neighbor houses just to say we did. She also got to try her first piece of candy, which she enjoyed.
Our crazy little girl also turned 18 months! Time flies when you’re having fun. I know I keep saying it, but I just keep wondering where my tiny baby went – I am in awe of how big, smart and strong she is. She had her 18 month appointment and I can’t remember her stats exactly, but she’s 32 inches (which is like 55%), her head is still giant in the 90+% and they had her weight at 25lbs (which is like 80%) but that’s a jump of 3 lbs from 3 weeks ago and 3 lbs more than our scale at home, so I think she’s closer to 22-23. Either way, she’s fully into her 2T clothes.
She’s been a lot of fun lately. She loves to smile and laugh and goes out of her way to find a reason to laugh and have fun. She still loves to run and climb and generally get into trouble. Sleep has been a struggle lately as we’ve been waiting for this 4th molar to come through – her doctor basically told us she wouldn’t sleep until it came in (fingers crossed that’ll be any day now.) Ellie is also making her way toward the ‘terrible twos’ and has a mini meltdown/tantrum at least once a day – sometimes it’s 3 seconds, sometimes it’s 3 minutes. She keeps sneaking in an extra word here and there (I swear she pointed out of her crib the other day and said ‘out’) and I think she’s just going to start talking in sentences any day now. And now, some cute pictures:
Playing outside (while the weather was still nice):
Examining some dirt:
Playing in her jammies – going from happy to ‘why are you taking a picture of me?’:
Lunch:
Watching them pave our road (we sat at the front door for at least an hour:)
Some outdoor photos:
Playing with Dad:
Some more general cuteness showing the range of her personality lately:
I love the witch costume and all of the photos. She gets cuter and cuter and I love her curls! Miss you!
