Just a quick update on the girl. Ellie is continuing to amaze us with how smart she is, and her cuteness. She is a happy bundle of energy – which is why this winter is really starting to get long. She wants so badly to go outside and run and play and the freezing temperatures (and her dislike for the snow) keep her inside most of the time, causing trouble. We did try taking her out again on the one warm-ish for winter day and she still hated the snow, but she looks pretty cute all dressed up:
Trying to put her hat back on (hat is a word she knows, and she loves hats):
In the past couple weeks Ellie’s been getting her incisors in and 3 of 4 of them are in all the way (thank goodness – teething is no fun!) So, she’s been a picky eater and had her hands in her mouth – a lot.
We also celebrated Valentine’s day! She exchanged Valentines with all of her friends at school and they had a fun party. She also got a Valentine’s balloon that she enjoyed letting go to float to the (18 foot) ceiling:
One of Ellie’s cutest words right now is ‘upee’ – when she wants to be picked up she runs up to you with her arms up and goes ‘upee upee’ it’s adorable. I know at some point she’s going to say it the right way (just up) so I’ll savor her little kid cuteness now.
Her other new favorite word is still no, except now she says ‘no way.’ I think she actually thinks ‘no way’ means yes as she shakes her head no when she doesn’t want something, but says ‘no way’ when she does, or doesn’t know what you’re asking. It’s both adorable and annoying when she answers ‘no way’ to a question, because it comes out as one word (noway) in her tiny girl voice (that’s the adorable part) but it’s still ‘no way’ as an answer to a question (which is annoying.)
And now the best part, some cuteness.
Drinking her milk – she doesn’t use her hands, just her teeth to hold the cup:
Climbing (and trying to stand) on her blocks:
Trying on my necklaces. She used to pull them out and just hold them, now she figured out how to put them on:
Walking around in mama’s shoes:
Having lunch (and a good time):
And last but not least, hanging out with her mama:
Good blog kids, many thanks! Gramma Ruth
