Yesterday was another day of excitement so another two day post – thanks for being patient 😉 Today is Day 21! I can’t believe it! I realize I say that every time, but it really is crazy that it’s been 3 weeks tomorrow. Here’s a picture from yesterday morning in her cute turtle jammies – she’s getting so big!!

Speaking of being big, we weighed this kid last night and she’s up to 5 lbs 5 oz! She’s gaining a little over an ounce a day – which is great. Ellie will definitely be newborn size when she’s out of here, and she might be out of her newborn clothes shortly after getting home (although I hope she waits a little bit as I have quite a few of them…)

Last night’s big adventure was bath night! She’s had baths before, but we’ve never been around for them (they do them a couple times a week on the overnight shift. Yesterday our nurse was nice enough to do bath time while we were there so we could do it/get some tips and encouragement. Ellie isn’t a huge fan of bath time yet – she screamed pretty much the whole time. But she was so darn cute all cleaned up afterwards. She also got herself so worked up that she slept well afterwards. Her little neighbors all got baths last night too, so we had a row of screaming babies 30 minutes after each other 🙂

Here she is post bath (sorry no bath pics…was a little busy) with her new hat and clean hair and skin (she how she still looks a little like ‘what did you just do to me’):

This morning we got confirmation she’ll start bottles tomorrow assuming all is still going well. I have no idea what that means – whether she’ll just try it once, how much they’ll give her, etc but it’s definitely the next/last step in going home (I’ll say it again….I am so ready to go home)!

In fun things I haven’t shared yet (or if I did, I don’t remember), this kid makes a lot of noise. She grunts, moans, squeaks all the time. She’s the most vocal of the babies here – she always lets you know what she’s thinking/feeling/wants. She also gets hiccups every day and sounds like a squeak toy when she does. One of these days I’ll try to video her doing it.

Lastly, I remembered I have a front camera on my phone today, so took a picture of Ellie and I while she was getting her feeding through her tube (and I was lucky enough to hold her while she was doing it):
