The last few weeks have been a little miserable here in the Rasmussen household. Between the three of us, it’s been one illness after another. Let’s see, it started almost three weeks ago now when Ellie got pinkeye. Luckily, I noticed it quickly and she only had to be home from school for a day. One week later, Ellie had been starting to get pretty fussy and had an on and off again fever so we took her in and sure enough, ear infection (almost double.) So we started antibiotics for that and she went back to daycare (again missing a day.)
Just a little more than a week after that, Ellie had been coughing a little on the weekend (and Clark and I both felt like crap), but not bad so I took her to school on Monday. During the day Monday, Clark went to the doctor and found he had pinkeye, so I picked up Ellie from daycare. When I did, they told me she had been coughing really bad. She didn’t cough much that night, but when she got up Tuesday she coughed for minutes at a time so I took her back to the doctor. This time, it was bronchiolitis. Thankfully, it wasn’t RSV as well. But, we’ve been giving her breathing treatments since to help keep her lungs opened up. She was home for two days for that, during one of which I went to the doctor and discovered I have a sinus infection. We’re so ready for winter to be over and us all to be healthy again!
On to good things! I know last time I mentioned Ellie had sort of started crawling. Well, she hasn’t slowed down! She’s pretty fast and can get across the floor, and into anything, in seconds. She also is getting more adventurous in pulling up on things (and getting herself back down.) She’s starting to explore the rest of the house now with her new found skills and she’s enjoying it.
It was also St Patrick’s Day! She spit up on her outfit before she even got to school in it, but at least I got a picture:
Ellie has also been enjoying eating food at daycare. We had lunch at home together yesterday (now that she’s feeling better) and she attempts to get food into her mouth and makes it pretty frequently. She seems to like bananas now, so that’s her first fruit she likes. We’ll keep at it as she still only eats a few bites before she’s done, but she’s getting better at it every day!
We also took some 10 month pictures, and this is as much as I could narrow it down:
