Ellie really loved Easter (or as she calls it – da Eashter!) A couple weeks later and she still loves everything she sees about Easter. The adventure started with a party at school and then Ellie got to participate in her first Easter egg ‘hunt’ (the eggs were scattered on the floor across her classroom – so there wasn’t much hunting involved.) She also got to see the Easter bunny at school and gave him a hug.
Ellie was adorable in her Easter dress and she really enjoyed getting into her basket – especially when she found her fruit snacks. Ellie also had fun at an egg hunt and her grandparents and hanging out with her family all day.
Other development things in her life lately – she learned how to jump last week! She’s been practicing for a couple months now and she can now consistently get both feet off the ground – and she loves it. It makes her so happy. Sometimes she just says ‘hop hop’ and jumps or occasionally ‘ribbit ribbit.’ It’s pretty cute.
Ellie has also taken to standing up against the wall and saying ‘cheese’ so that we’ll take her picture. In something that strangely makes me sad, Ellie is starting to say ‘daddy’ and ‘mommy’ instead of ‘dada’ and ‘mama’. She also is starting to know people by name…or at least her interpretation of their name (for example her friend next door, Aubrey, is ‘Da Auba.’)
She still loves to dance and keeps getting more dance moves. Ellie also really likes to sing ‘The wheels on the bus’ and ‘Old McDonald’ – and now we let her pick out the next animal in the song (usually a cow. Or a bear.)
Up next – our little tiny baby girl is about to turn two.
And now for a month’s worth of pictures…
Say Cheese
Practicing her modeling skills (and she accessorized herself…)
Watching TV (hot dog – her favorite)
