Our little Ellie is another month old! Somehow we’re now the parents of a 4 month old. Time flies. We took her in today for her 4 month checkup/vaccinations and she’s up to 11 lbs 13 oz and 24 1/4 inches! Her weight is in the 10th percentile but her height is 43rd – she’s a long baby. I knew that though as I tried to put her in jammies last night but they were all too short – so she’s officially into her 6 month clothes.
Today is the first day of school for all the kiddos in Michigan and it makes me a little sad already. On our way to the Doctor we passed kids out with their parents waiting for the bus, getting their first day pictures taken. I know I have years until I need to worry about it, but it just really hit me that she’s gonna keep growing up and go to school and have her own friends and the highlight of her day won’t be to smile at me and cuddle. Sigh. I know I’m getting ahead of myself, but being a Mom does weird things to you.

We had another busy week this last week. Wednesday we went to visit Clark at work, which we all enjoyed.
This weekend Ellie’s Aunt, Uncle and Cousin came up from TX to visit so we had a lot of family gatherings. She enjoyed hanging out with all of her family – even if she got a little overwhelmed at times. Everyone agrees she’s the cutest. It did tire her out though:
Ellie is starting to enjoy playing with some toys. We got her a playmat, which loves for about 10 minutes – and then she gets overwhelmed. She also is starting to like her swing – especially the flying monkeys.
We’re in countdown mode now until I go back to work in 3 weeks, and all of our weekends are full. Sigh. I’m still denying that’s going to happen. So, we’ll enjoy some pictures of the kid to distract us:
