Our tiny girl (who isn’t so tiny anymore) is 6 months old today. I can’t believe it. It’s been the fastest and longest 6 months of our lives. Happy Half Birthday Ellie!
It’s been a crazy couple of weeks for us, so apologies for the long time between posts. I’ll make up for it by adding lots of pictures to this one 🙂
Things are still going as well as they can. Some days I get home from work at an OK time and we play, some days I get home late and the girl is crabby and just wants to eat and nap and whine. But we’re making it work. And when I get to come home to this face, it makes it all better:
Let’s see, miss Elizabeth is still doing new things all the time. She went through a phase for about a week where she stuck her tongue out all the time. Like pretty much non stop. Her Daycare folks even commented on it.
Our growing girl has now officially moved into her 9 mo clothes. She’s just getting so big! It’s so crazy that she just turned 6 months, and was 2 months early, but still now into her 9 mo clothes. She’s so tall that she just kicks out of everything. And all of her Halloween clothes are 6 mo, so I’m cramming her in them still 🙂
The really big news is that Ellie rolled over for the first time this week! She went from her belly to her back (which is supposed to be first.) I had given up on her, because I thought she had given up. Apparently, she just didn’t have the proper motivation. She’s really starting to get interested in toys, so I moved her Elephant a little bit away from her and she sort of looked at it, and then slowly started to roll over towards it. And I was there to see it! She’s still not consistent in doing it, but has done it almost every day since. It’s funny looking back on it, because the act of her rolling itself is such a normal thing, that it doesn’t seem like it should be a big deal. But, because she hadn’t done it before, it was a big deal to me.
It’s officially cold here in Michigan, which is a perfect excuse for all of the fleeces and hats that have animals on them to make their appearance:
We had our 82nd annual Halloween party this weekend so Ellie got to put on one of her costumes – a Mermaid. I thought she was cute. Apparently so did she as she was so entranced with her costume she didn’t really want to look at the camera.
Her cousin that isn’t her cousin also came to the party, so we dressed them alike and took a picture 🙂
She also loves laughing at her Dad right now – he’s pretty much the greatest to her:
There’s a moose on this shirt – that is all:
