Every day this giant girl amazes me. She has really been turning into a little person. She’s starting to understand things and investigate to see how things work.
When playing, Ellie has started not just destroying things, but putting them back together. If I show her something she can imitate and repeat it (things like throwing the goat down the silo in her little farm.) She really enjoys reading books – especially the page turning part and pulling them all off of the shelf.
If she feels like it, she’ll listen to some ‘commands’ as well. I can tell her ‘let’s get your shoes on’ and she’ll run over to the closet that her shoes are in. She will also then sit down and try to put her foot in the shoe (although she doesn’t succeed.) She also understands the things she’s not supposed to touch – she’ll look at the test button on the carbon monoxide detector and make a ‘no’ noise and shake her head no.
Ellie is also starting to say things that resemble words more often – to the point where I think she might actually be saying words 🙂 She also loves to laugh and hug. And whine – she’s getting pretty good at that too 🙂
In other news she had her 15 mo checkup last week and her stats are: weight 20lb 12 oz (43%), height 30 1/2 in (48%) and her giant head circumference 18 1/2 in (83%). Her doctor declared her to be perfect and told us we were lucky – I agree 🙂
And now for pics.
