Well, this was a big week for us. Not only did our little girl turn 12 weeks old, but we actually went out of the house. A few times. It was crazy.

Look at her, sitting there like a big girl (it only lasted for a minute, then she keeled over, but…)

We started off the week heading to the grocery store, all three of us, for ‘real’ shopping. We did it once a few weeks ago, but the big difference here is I drove, so I could get a feel for doing it myself. That was the first time we were in the car that I wasn’t sitting next to her in the backseat. I was a little stressed. Then, the real test came later in the week as I had to take her to the Doctor all by myself.

Ellie had started not being our eating champion. About halfway through her feeding she’d pull away from the bottle and start screaming and arching her back and refused to take the bottle anymore. Then she’d scream at me that she was hungry. It looked a little like this:

Sad right? So I took her in and they think she has reflux so we started her on some heartburn medication. It seems to be helping. It’s supposed to take a week or two to really take effect, and it’s been 5 days and she’s already starting to eat her whole bottle consistently and a lot more, which is good. Now she looks more like this:

That was Thursday. Then the weekend. On Saturday, we had some errands we just had to get done (needed some clothes and shoes for events upcoming) so we packed up the girl and headed out. I’m not gonna lie, it was stressful. Very stressful. But she did good. We discovered an insert to put into the stroller so she can sit in it now without the car seat (since she’s not a fan of the car seat) and she didn’t hate it:

We even had to feed her while we were out and it went OK. I was very tired by the time we got home though, and so was she. Then the next day we went out to breakfast (well, it was like 2pm but we ate breakfast) and it went OK again. She cried a little, but then thankfully fell asleep. It wasn’t the most peaceful breakfast I’ve eaten, and I felt like I ate really fast, but we did it. So, slowly, we’re becoming real people. And that makes Ellie happy:

  1. Well isn’t she getting big. It will be easier sweetheart as time goes on. You have a GORGEOUS daughter, but I might be just a little prejudice!!! However, take it slow, soon you will be doing all that jazz like an old timer. Know your tired right now, but it will get easier. Hugs and kisses to everyone. Mom
