Somehow, we ended up with a 3 month old on our hands! I have to admit, it feels much longer than 3 months, but at the same time – it’s already been 3 months! While our little preemie isn’t doing things a normal 3 month old would be doing, she is doing new things every day. She likes to have her ‘kicking time’ and lays down and kicks and looks around and yells and is generally happy. She’s also starting to respond to sounds and track toys – she’s not there all the way, but she’s getting there.
Yeah, kickin’ time!
We also got a new bouncy seat (she didn’t like the old one) and thank goodness, she loves it. And by loves it, she’ll sit in it for 20 minutes while I pump without crying the whole time – she even has a little bit of fun 🙂 It’s the first thing we’ve bought that she’ll do that in (of course, it’s the least expensive but whatever, at least it works.)
Bouncy seat fun:
And of course, she’s getting bigger. I have no idea how big she is, but she’s grown out of her smaller 3 month clothes and is fully into the bigger 3 month clothes.
Nap time with Dad, all worn out from kicking:
Our big thing for this week is Clark and I had a wedding to attend on Saturday, so Grandma and Grandpa came over (thank you!) and we headed out. We were gone for 5 hours and when we came home, I felt the most relaxed I’ve felt in months. It was amazing. For those few hours we were just able to visit with friends and laugh and not always be on edge just waiting for the kiddo to need something else – you know, be an adult. I felt a little guilty, but then realized if we don’t have adult time, we’re gonna go crazy. And I’m a way better Mom when I’m relaxed, much more patient and generally happy. And Ellie had a good time with her Grandparents, so it worked out well for everybody 🙂 Hopefully we’ll try it again soon 🙂
As a bonus, here’s some 3 month pictures we took (I missed months one and two, but figured starting it now is better than not doing month pictures at all.)
We had a great time. She was perfect. Whenever you want/need some adult time, just call us, we love Ellie time!
