Sigh. We’ve officially hit the one week left until I go back to work mark. I’m going to try and get all of the baby hugs I can before then. I’m sure I’m making it out to be worse than it will be. After all, it does sound nice that I’ll be able to go to the bathroom whenever I want and eat lunch that doesn’t come in the form of a granola bar/have more than 3 minutes to consume it. I’m still gonna miss the little stinker though.

In happier news, Ellie has definitely learned some new things in the past week. She’s now grabbing onto toys pretty consistently (even if she’s not sure what to do with them once she has them in her hand.) She’s also way better at tummy time – you lay her down and she leaves her head up the whole time just looking around. Her other new trick is she occasionally wants to stand now – which she seems to like for a few minutes until she’s like ‘Um….I’m standing, and I don’t understand that’ but she refuses to un-straighten her legs, so you have to sort of force her to sit. Silly baby. Still no rolling over, but we’re oh so close.

Look – it’s my hand:

Last weekend was her Aunt’s wedding and she did really great. Everyone commented on what a good baby she was. Of course, they weren’t running around trying to make sure she was warm enough or finding hot water to heat a bottle or finding a corner to change her in as there were no changing tables in the bathroom navigate to this website. ?  She really did do great though. She slept through the ceremony (thank goodness) and was a trooper in the cold for the outdoor photos. Ellie definitely got overwhelmed during dinner when everyone cheered for speeches and kissing and such. She sort of looked at me like ‘WHAT IS HAPPENING’ so I snuggled her and covered her ears and she was a little better. She did enjoy hanging out with all of her family though and partied late into the night. She then proceeded to sleep all day Sunday ?

Here are her dresses from the rehearsal and the wedding:

I forgot to add she’s also close to laughing. I was holding her last night while she was napping and she giggled in her sleep. At first I thought something was wrong and then I realized she was laughing. It was the cutest sound ever and melted my heart. Before she smiled awake she used to smile in her sleep a lot so I’m hoping that means laughing is right around the corner ?
