Well, the day finally came. My journey as a full time Mom officially came to an end today as I went back to work. The past five months flew by. It wasn’t always easy, but I had a great time. I keep having flashbacks of her arrival into the world – probably because it’s the last time I was separated from her for any length of time. Anyway – We both did OK. I didn’t cry once I got to work (I might have been a hot mess before then). Ellie came home exhausted. But we made it. Here we are this morning, Ellie’s first day of ‘school’:

And while this isn’t from today, this is exactly what she looks like right now (still sleeping after getting home from daycare):

We had a lot of fun this week though. I made sure we spent as much time as possible home just hanging out. Yesterday I made Ellie giggle for the first time! It was just a short ‘huh-huh’ but it was so cute!

Ellie spent a lot of time kicking this week. She gets very excited and tries to kick all of the toys hanging above her on her play mat. I discovered if we let her play with her play mat in the evening (usually while we eat dinner), she goes to sleep right after her last bottle. The past few days she’s been asleep by like 10, which is way earlier than 12 🙂  We’ll see if it lasts.

I have to include this picture, because she’s not only wearing my favorite jammies (whalies!) but she has the ‘what the heck is that’ look on her face that she gets every time I pull the camera out:

I know I mentioned it before, but she really is so much better at tummy time. She has no interest in rolling over still, but I lay her down and she doesn’t even put her head down immediately, she just sits and looks around. She’s getting so darn big:
