Where did this giant girl come from?

It’s been another couple crazy weeks here, but good weeks. Our little girl is so giant. I got home from work today and I swear Ellie is visibly bigger than when I last saw her this morning. Everyone says they grow up so fast, but this is just crazy 🙂 I mean seriously – look at this girl:

I was feeding her yesterday and remembering when she was little we used to have to rub her cheeks and neck to keep her awake while she was eating so she’d stay awake long enough to actually eat. We’re so far from that, but it was just a few months ago.

Anyway, on to new things. Ellie continues to be a rolling machine. Her newest trick is rolling multiple times in one direction. She tends to shift course part way through and can end up across the room in a strange direction. She seems to enjoy herself, and it’s fun watching her start to become mobile. We just have to keep a constant eye on her 🙂

Her other big physical accomplishment is she’s much better at sitting on her own now. She sits pretty well if you keep her from falling from side to side. Her biggest issue is she finds a toy, or her feet, gets distracted and falls over. She’s so close though. And it’s awesome. I’ve been waiting for this for a long time. Maybe we can finally go out to eat!

Miss Elizabeth finally does the stereotypical cute baby thing you always see in pictures – she grabs/eats her toes. It’s so funny. Especially when I take off her clothes to change her so puts her feet in the air, grabs them and tries to bring them to her mouth. I need to catch her doing it when I have a camera handy.

We had my work Holiday party a couple weeks ago, which is the 3rd time that Clark and I have been out to do something not errand related since she’s come home. We had a good time, and got a nice picture before we headed out:

Ellie has continued to try new foods. So far she’s not a huge fan of peas, but she’ll eat them. We tried pears this weekend and she only took a few bites – every time with a look of ‘what the heck are you feeding me, no way am I eating this.’ So I ate them – they were good. We’ll try again later. Until then, she prefers to eat her toys:

Christmas is so close and I’m getting excited! We took Christmas/7 month pictures (just couldn’t make both happen) which are below. There are quite a few as I couldn’t narrow down my favorites 🙂

Here’s the best one:

Which quickly devolved into:

But we got some more:

And then it kind of devolved again:
