Santa Claus is Coming to Town

It’s Christmas Eve!!!

I’m starting to get excited. It’s sort of weird too, because as you get older, Christmas is fun, but it’s it’s kind of just another holiday. The magic fades. You think of Santa only as the potentially creepy man at the mall. Now that Ellie is here, the magic is coming back. It’s our job now to make sure that she is filled with all of the excitement and wonder and joy that Christmas can bring.

Speaking of Santa, we visited the Jolly old man last weekend. Ellie was so overwhelmed by being in the mall she didn’t really care, but we have photographic evidence we were there, which is all that matters:

Ellie is doing a pretty good job of sitting independently now. She can do it for a good minute plus (when she wants to.) She can’t sit up yet, but if I put her there, she’s close to staying. She seems to be getting better at it every day.

She’s also into everything. I give her a toy or put her in her exersaucer and she looks at it and knows what to do. She explores and touches and chews on and hits everything. It’s so fun to see her become this very aware little girl (because at this size, she’s barely a baby anymore.)

Ellie has also taken up squealing lately as her new form of ‘talking’. Sometimes it’s cute, until it turns into a whine, then it’s annoying. At least she’s having fun 🙂

Now for the pictures.

I love babies in hats!
