The holiday I was most excited for has come – Ellie’s first Christmas! It was a long, exhausting day, but I think she had fun – which is all that mattered.
We started the day opening a present at home. She had a great time grabbing and eating the wrapping paper, and was a little sad when I took it away.
The rest of the day she made out like a bandit as her Grandparents and Aunts gave her just about every toy under the sun. Clark and I now have to figure out a storage solution for her loot 🙂
In other news, Ellie is sitting even better. If she feels like it, she can go 5 minutes without falling over. It’s crazy. We took her in her first grocery cart ride on Saturday when we snuck out to Target. She was tiny, so we padded her with a couple blankets in case she wanted to tip over. I think she had fun looking around at everything. I had fun knowing we can take her out now (well, if we weren’t worried about flu/colds. Sigh.)
The other thing she’s started to do is ‘walk’ if you hold her hands. She’ll do anywhere from one to ten very slow steps if help her. She’s growing up so fast.
And because it’s what you’re all here for anyway, some other pictures I took this week:
