We’re well into Summer and Ellie is enjoying every minute of it. She loves going outside to swing, play with bubbles, have races (that girl loves to run) and swim. She’s really gotten into swimming in the big pool – she’s going to be our little fish. Miss Elizabeth is still into jumping and continues to practice new ways/heights.
Ellie continues to talk up a storm and she expands her vocabulary into new words/phrases and clearer pronunciation daily. Some of her favorite/most used current phrases are ‘what doin?’ ‘what’s that’ and ‘I do it.’ She’s also picked up ‘no way Jose’ ‘oh man’ and my new favorite ’thats a hot mess.’ In general she’s very expressive and prone to strong emotion (positive and negative) – you never have to guess what she’s thinking.
She’s continues to be into fashion and accessories. Her favorite things right now are her flip flops – don’t call them sandals, she’ll correct you and let you know they’re flip flops. On a weekend day she’ll go through four pairs of shoes just because she likes wearing them all. Ellie has mastered wearing my heels as well – she has good taste and always picks out the prettiest/shiniest ones I have. She’s still into hats and really likes her sunglasses. Ellie has also recently gotten into carrying around a purse. She’s also starting to get a little particular on what clothes she wears – including her pajamas. At least I know I’ll have someone to shop with 🙂
We’ve gone on some new adventures this summer including the Zoo. She didn’t seem super impressed when we were there, but continued to talk about it for weeks after and was more excited when we went back for a second trip.
We went to Greenfield Village for my work picnic where Ellie got to ride a carousel for the first time – she was pretty excited:
She also enjoyed fireworks this year on the Fourth (unlike last year). She had fun throwing the poppers and doing sparklers.
Every age so far has been my favorite, and right now is no exception. Here’s the best part – random photos!
When I asked her what she wanted for breakfast, she said ‘pink doughnut’ – so we found a pink doughnut:
The start of her modeling career (my coworker said this was her Macys ad):
Enjoying her pouch – one of her favorite snacks (especially the red pouch):
Taking some rides with her baby:
Are we sure this girl isn’t 5?
Bed head:
Petting the plastic kitty in the pool:
Climbing the monkey bars – she’s getting pretty good at holding on:
Reading – one of her favorite activities:
Enjoying her first popsicle (from the ice cream truck) of the summer with her best friend:
Playing on the swingset (including climbing the slide – the best way to get up)
Playing with her (not really but could be) cousin (they’ve gotten so big since their last photo together!)
The many facial expressions of Ellie (this will be an ever present segment):
